Why I became a therapist
I believe therapy is about creating a safe and authentic relationship where clients can learn to embrace their authentic self. We find that empowerment is a product of this process and leads to healthier relationships, increased self-worth, and an improved sense of well-being.
Background & Experience
I have years of experience helping individuals manage addiction, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and relationship and family conflict. Prior to moving to Philadelphia and working at my current position at a male inpatient rehab, I was employed at a group private practice in my hometown, Miami, FL, where I was involved with various community outreach programs. Through a variety of settings, I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families.
Masters in Counseling, Dual Specialization in Mental Health and Marriage and Family, Barry University, Miami FL
Bachelors in Biopsychology, Philadelphia University, Philadelphia PA
Currently under supervision for LPC license (PA)
Using a strength based and client-centered frame work, I utilize a variety of therapeutic styles including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma specific treatment. I understand the importance of the relationships between one’s mind, body, and soul, and use this holistic approach to help each client achieve their goals.
